San Antonio - Ibiza Holiday Review

Submitted by: Alexis - Bradford
Date: 12 August 2002

san antonioAll packed and raring to go. We were flying at midnight to the party capital - San Antonio in Ibiza. Not only were we going to one of the liveliest resorts in Europe but we were travelling with Club 18-30 as well. I always was a glutton for punishment!!!

There were 5 of us all together, none of us had been before so didn't know what to expect apart from the obvious - Sun Sea and..................S.....S..............Sangria.

We decided to get into the holiday spirit so had a few beers in the airport....you know they saying "start as you mean to go on".

At approx 11.30pm we started boarding the plane.....2 1/2 hrs later and we landed in Evisa airport. Although it was about 3am the heat was unbelievable when we stepped off the aircraft.

A couple of hrs later and we had eventually arrived at our apartments. We were on the top floor at the Bella Ibiza...the view was fantastic. We had a balcony that looked over part of the pool at one side, the busy street at the front and Cafe Mambo at the other side.

We couldn't have wished for a better room. The apartments were about a 7minute stroll from the banging centre where absolutely ANYTHING GOES!

After unpacking and finding our feet with the location of the apartments we were invited to the welcome meeting where we were all introduced with a glass of sangria and an info pack.

We all decided that we would buy the excursion pack as this included a different excursion every day of the week....with one of the most recommended: Booze Cruize. One definitely NOT to miss.

Through out the first part of the week we attended the various excursions. One of which included a buffet dinner, endless jugs of sangria and a reps show at the end of the night. Towards the end of the meal someone decided to start a food fight which ended in the hall floor being covered in left overs and various coloured stains on our clothes! All in good fun though....although the owners didn't quite see it that way!

Mid-week was the un-forgettable booze cruize! An early start for all but was well worth it! Once on board the boat the drinking games began within minutes.....The first involved a funnel and a very large jug of some lethal concoction. The guy who won, unsurprisingly threw up over the side of the boat almost immediately. After about 2 hours of sunbathing and more games on board, we embarked at a man made beach ready for the real games. All involved alot of alcohol, members of the opposite sex and some very awkward positions...........!! There was food provided and of course a bar to keep us all going!

This excursion was a full day, we were given a few hours to either sober up or get even more sloshed and to change ready for the guided pub crawl around San An that evening.

san antonioAnother excursion included the "Sun Dance" which began mid day and went on late into the night. Here there were all kinds of different stalls selling anything and everything and then a number of well known DJ's playing later on in the evening. Another definitely not to miss out on!

The nights when we were free to do our own thing, we spent in the bustling streets of San An. There are so many bars to choose from all competing to get you in their bar so you are guaranteed a lot of free shots.

san antonioClub wise Eden is a good night, especially on a Sunday as Dave Pierce does Sundessential. Also it is home to the famous foam parties....A good excuse to wear as little as possible get as wet as possible. Definitely one for all those Randy Andy's out there!

Es Paradise is the one where Sporty Spice filmed "I Turn to You". This club is very spacious and the atmosphere is fantastic.

These are the two main clubs in San Antonio. If you venture further out, you can find Space, El Divino, Amnesia (where Manumission is held).

For those of you who want to relax on the beach with a drink and watch the sun set (and rise for you dirty stop outs), Cafe Mambo is the place to be. With DJ's such as Carl Cox playing, this is the number one place for a fantastic and inexpensive night.

For the shoppaholics who want to spend spend spend, a day out to Ibiza Town is definitely for you. This cosmopolitan town offers shops for all from markets stalls selling key rings, to clothes shops selling the latest fashions.

San Antonio - Ibiza is a MUST for all those who want to party 24/7, be it in a top club or in the bustling streets of San An.
